There is just no other way to put it…. this was going to be a challenge!! I day notice, school holidays, 3 models ranging in age from 14-40 and no-one over 5ft..
I arrived early to take in the information, I love a challenge this was going to be great!!!!!!!!! As I looked for the right locations to photograph I listened in on this group of women talk. There was laughter, respect, honesty and an overall feeling of love & support. I began the journey and discovered the reasons for Kirsty’s (Harper designer/maker) choices and how perfect these women were.
The 3 women represent to me Harper’s growing journey. From no formal training and from her kitchen table Kirsty has defied the odds and bought to life an amazing, fresh, elegant, edgy and very glamourous jewellery line. Featuring stunning south sea pearls, diamonds set in sterling silver or gold, semi precious gems and much much more.
Her models Frayer, a young stunning woman of just 14yrs with a gentle maturity. Jane, a strong, fit, elegant beauty with eyes to melt the soul and Emily a super ball of energy with life experience no one should have to endure (her gorgeous boy Elliot lost his battle with cancer at the tenter age of 4) a stunning, captivating and edgy glamour. Kirsty’s model choices came from the heart – the same way she approaches her jewellery and now the way I would begin to shoot.
There is no point in me going on at this point, the images speak for themselves as does the jewellery. The shot of Emily in front of the mirror gives me goosebumps still and brings a tear to my eye.
This amazing label in “Harpers” has bought together a group of friends who have supported each other through good and bad times. Kirsty has created amazing jewellery & shared dreams… now that is a purchase with meaning, that you can wear close to your heart and just love everything about.
